Appalachian Farmstead is a small-scale sawmill operation in the Appalachian hills of Pennsylvania, powered in part by solar and driven by old-fashioned grit. We specialize in milling rough-cut hardwood—especially Black Cherry, Maple, and Oak—sourced responsibly from our own land and neighboring properties. Every board we cut supports homesteaders, builders, DIYers, and anyone who values strong, honest lumber with a story behind it.
Whether we’re sawing tomato stakes, rabbit hutch frames, or barn beams, we do it all right here on the homestead. We also share our day-to-day life—cutting trees, working the land, raising animals, and milling wood—through our two YouTube channels, blending off-grid living with hands-on survival skills.
